The Coupons section is similar to the other three sections described above. The admin is capable to add not only new Coupon Names, but also the Coupon Names that need more information in order to be complete. The admin may also choose how to apply the discount: as a percentage discount (example:10% discount) or a fixed number discount: (example: a 10 dollar discount). The coupon may also be represented by a free shipping discount.

Each Coupon Name has the following attributes that need to be completed in order for a coupon to work in the system. It is necessary to complete at least the following:

Coupon Name: Keep a record of what the coupon is for.

Code: The code needs to be a number, in most cases a 3 digit number.

Date Start: The date in which the coupon is active.

Date End: The date until the coupon is active.

Status: It shows if the coupon campaign is enabled or disabled.

The coupons information can be edited by clicking on the Edit feature for each coupon. The admin can insert new coupons and new coupon campaigns by using the Insert tab. The admin is able to delete one or more coupons by selecting the desired coupon and clicking Delete.

After clicking on Edit or either Insert, the admin will need to complete the following fields (Please use the images as a guide:

Coupon Name
Name of the coupon. This will be displayed in the order totals.

Coupon Description
Description of coupon. This is used for administration records.

Code
Coupon Code. This is the code you give to the customers so when they enter the code on the checkout confimation page the discount will be given.

Type
Coupon type. Sets the type of discount given. It can be either a percentage discount or fixed amount.

Discount
Coupon discount amount. If you set the type to a percentage then it will minus the percentage amount from the sub-total. If the type is set to a fixed amount then the fixed amount will be deducted from the sub-total.

Free Shipping
Set the coupon amount to give free shipping.

Products
Set which products you want to apply the discounted amount to. If none are selected then the discounted amount will apply to all products.

Date Start
Set the start date for when you want the coupon to begin.

Date End
Set the end date for when you want the coupon to expire.

Uses Per Coupon
Set the number of times a coupon can be used.

Uses Per Customer
Set the number of times a coupon can be used.

Status
Coupon status will determine if the coupon can be used or not.

Make sure to click on Save or Cancel.
