To get the Topman Theme set-up correctly there are a few steps that you have to take

To create a image suitable for your selected theme, copy this link and follow the details of using an online image editor – SumoPaint

1. Logo

This themes sample site has a logo size of:

200 x 50 pixels (width x height)

You can add your new logo in the admin area by going to admin > system > settings (image tab)

 2. Shop Details

Now your shop has been setup, you can modify your shops name, location and currency.

You can do this in the admin area by going to admin > system > settings

 3. Home Page Slides

This themes sample site has a home page slide size of:

1160 x 353 pixels (width x height)

Adding New Slides

You can add your new logo in the admin area by going to admin > system > Advanced Layer Slider

4. Shop Colors

This shop design has a number of pre-made colors you can use

To edit your shops colors go to admin > system > theme control

Make sure the module is turned on

Background Tab

This tab lets you select the background color of the site

Overlay Pattern

Use this area to select one of the inbuilt backgrounds.

Use the drop down to select the number of the pattern you like

or Upload your own pattern / background image

Click select to open the image manager.

You can then upload a new image / select an image you have already uploaded

Colors Tab

Use the colors tab to modify the individual area of the site.

This area is split up into 7 different areas – click on the side links to modify that area

• General
• Header
• Product Grid/List
• Product Page
• Side Module
• Footer
• Other

Each tab has a list of the different design elements you can change hte color of

To change an elements color –

1. click on the current color to open a colour picker –
2. select the new color
3. click off the color picker to close

Fonts Tab

The fonts tab lets you select the fonts used on the site.

The top preview area displays how a font looks

For each text area you can select

• Size:
• Font Weight:
• Font Style:
• Text Transform:

Note Remember to Click Save

5. Shop Default Image Sizes

You can modify the size of the images displayed in your shop by going to admin > system > settings ‘image tab’

If you would like to have the default sizes displayed again, you can view what they are in the image below.

  6. Adding Product Categories

To make it easier to manage products we use categories. This lets you group similar products together

  7. Add a Product

Now your shop has at least one category, you can now start to add your products to sell.

  8. Update Your Shipping Options

Your shop comes setup with a few different shipping modules pre-installed

These are available by going to admin > extensions > shipping options

The Internet is all about Information so now is the time to add in some content to your site.

 10. Other Modules of interest

Topman Home Featured Categories

Displays featured categories on the home page

Go to admin > extensions > modules > Topman Home Featured Categories (click edit)

Enter in

• IMAGE PRODUCT (W X H):  The size of the thumbnails to be displayed – default is 150 x 150
• LIMIT: How many products to display – default is 3
• CATEGORIES: The categories you would like featured (add a new module for each category you want featured)
• LAYOUT: Page layout to use – default is Home
• POSITION: Location on the page for this module – default is Content Top
• STATUS: Enable / Disable
• SORT ORDER: The priority of this module compared to others on this page – the lower the number the higher it is displayed.

Topman Manufacturer

Displays a Manufacturer drop box on your site

Go to admin > extensions > modules > Topman Manufacturer (click edit)

Enter in

• LAYOUT: Page layout to use – default has 2 modules – Category, Manufacturer, Product
• POSITION Location on the page for this module – default is Column Left
• STATUS: Enable / Disable
• SORT ORDER: The priority of this module compared to others on this page – the lower the number the higher it is displayed.

Topman Quick Selection

Displays a quick select drop box in the header of your site

Go to admin > extensions > modules > Topman Quick Selection (click edit)

Enter in

• CATEGORY NAME: The name to be displayed
• SELECT CATEGORY: The category to link to
• ICON (W X H): The size of the icon to be displayed – default is 30 x 24
• ICON: This is the icon you would like to display – Click browse to open the image manager.

A great location that has free icons you can use is called FlatIcons

Display Featured Products on the Home Page

 Home Page Manufacture Images

The home page manufacturer images can be modified in the Banners Area

 The manufacture images are being displayed by using the Carousel Module

 Add News / A Blog / Articles

You can add news to your site via the Blog Manager
